Meet OptiMonk

After working with 2,000+ online retailers, we discovered their greatest pain point: losing potential buyers. In 2014, OptiMonk was born—the first international startup of the Innonic Startup Studio in Debrecen. From the beginning, we focused on a strong, clear mission: to personalize to world of ecommerce.

Before long, we grew from a simple exit-intent solution to a powerful conversion optimization and lead generation platform. Today, we can proudly say that 36,000+ websites in 150+ countries use OptiMonk. More than 50% of our customers are US-based, and in 2019 our Annual Recurring Revenue was $1.6M.

We are looking for a Product Marketing Manager

As a growing startup, we pay close attention to our customers’ needs, and we’re always striving to provide them with more value. To provide best-in-class communication between product-sales-marketing-customers, we are looking for an AWESOME Product Marketing Manager.

As Product Marketing Manager, you’ll be responsible for flawless communication with our users, and within the company between departments.


OptiMonk is a marketing tool for online marketers, so we believe that a Product Marketing Manager will create the most value by:

  1. Working in the intersection of the product, marketing and sales triangle and reporting to the Head of Marketing. The position will also involve working alongside sales teams and enabling them to attract the right customers.

  2. Providing a Go-To-Market strategy for every feature. This way, each team’s communication with clients will be consistent.

  3. Clearly identifying buyer personas and target audiences for OptiMonk and determining the product’s positioning in the market.

  4. Analyzing our competitors to better understand our true unique selling points, and using that information to create communication strategies that will set us apart from competitors.

  5. Creating product-related deliverables such as landing pages, sales enablement materials, and support center resources.

  6. Ensuring that product communications meet the needs of our target audience and keeping OptiMonk relevant over time.

Who will you work with?

You’ll be at the intersection of our product, marketing, and sales teams, and you’ll become the master of our key messages and OptiMonk’s unique storytelling style.

You’ll also communicate with users, mainly to explore their understanding of our efforts and to validate the clarity of our planned messages.

Who are we looking for?

  • Our team is full of friendly, dedicated, curious people. We’re looking for someone with a similar attitude.

  • As this position is at the intersection of many areas, we are looking for a well-organized person who can oversee processes and projects within the organization.

  • More than 60% of our customers are native English speakers, so you’ll need to write and speak English and Hungarian fluently.

  • We’re looking for someone with a 3-4 years of digital marketing background, including copywriting, sales promotion, and design experience.

  • This is a dynamic position, so we’re expecting a proactive personality—you should always be on the lookout for areas that can be improved.

  • Although not required, experience with selling online is an advantage.

Our screening process:

We’re proud of our team, and we’d like to make sure that new colleagues are a good fit for the position and for our company culture. Here’s how our screening process works:

  1. On the application form, please upload some samples that demonstrate your marketing content creation skills. 
  2. As soon as you apply, we’ll send you a test exercise. You’ll have 1 week to send it back to us. In the meantime, you’ll be able to ask us 5 questions about the test. 
  3. If you succeed on the test, we’ll invite you to a personal meeting where you can meet the team. This is also an excellent opportunity for you to interview usl. 
  4. If you excel at the interview, we’ll invite you to a “test drive,” where you spend a full day with us. After a successful day, we’ll give you an offer.
  5. If you accept our offer, we’ll organize all the necessary administrative tasks. You can jump right into our onboarding process, which will bring you up to speed.
